BFI Waste Transfer Station - San Mateo
San Mateo, California

Having protected their tipping floor from chemicals, abrasions and everyday abuse for years, iron floors were once again the logical choice for the resurfacing of the BFI Transfer Station tipping floor in San Mateo, Calif. After thousands of tons of waste per day pounded the floor, BFI once again contracted Delta Pacific - Structural Preservation Systems (SPS) to resurface their tipping floor with the same high quality material that served them well for the past decade.

In order to avoid downtime and loss of revenue for the owner, Delta Pacific - SPS knew that the preparation and installation of the new floor had to be completed quickly. The experienced Delta Pacific - SPS crew moved rapidly to remove the original iron floor topping and prepare the floor for the new material. Delta Pacific - SPS poured the new 2-inch thick iron floor topping in just 24 hours - avoiding costly shut-downs and thereby allowing BFI to resume their operation without any interruption in service.

The floor has been restored to its original condition and BFI can once again rest assured that iron floors will provide their tipping floor with many years of service. BFI selecting Delta Pacific - SPS for the second time is a testament to the high quality materials, excellent service and workmanship as well as adherence to schedule that Delta Pacific - SPS commits to providing on every project.
